Food for Thought (excerpt from What's On www.ilovevegas.com)

Fellini's Tower of Pasta in the Stratosphere is quite a surprise, almost hidden and sometimes overlooked. When people think of the Stratosphere, they recall the looming tower and observation deck with one of the most spectacular views of Las Vegas, but there are also some great places to eat in the casino as well, and one of them is Fellini's.
Taken over by the owners of Fellini's restaurant on West Charleston in Las Vegas, the Italian restaurant has its own great view. A festive atmosphere is created with lively music, painted murals, sky blue ceilings and neighborhood facades. There are three main rooms in the restaurant featuring Rome and the Spanish Steps, Venice and the Bridge of Sighs, and Sicily with the Calabria. The three perspectives of Italy are well done, down to the vines hanging from the iron balconies jutting out from the rough brick and earth-tone masonry. The distinctly Italian decor put us in a warm and relaxed mood. Fellini's has a well-established, timeless quality.
Service at Fellini's is excellent, every dish, especially entrees is presented like a fine Renaissance painting. Both graduates of New York's Culinary Institute of America, Fellini's Executive Chef, Michael Prisco and Richard Corsetti take great pride in service and presentation.
Along with the food and ambiance, it is a great place to dine at very reasonable prices.
Fellini's
By Eric Tischler
The Las Vegas dining experience is quickly becoming a microcosm of the world. Where else can you sample various cuisine's of New York, Monte Carlo, Paris and Italy all packed into a few miles of road? Too often then not, these little jaunts to far off places can come with a hefty price. One major exception to the rule can be found at Fellini's Tower of Pasta at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino. "Fellini's combines the classic tastes of Southern Italy into a fine dining event that can also be enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere," said Richard Corsetti, general manager. "Fellini's is also one of the best values in Las Vegas." With dozens of dishes guaranteed to please, Fellini's provides the exuberant tastes of Italy at affordable prices.
Dining - September 2000
A complete unexpected surprise was Fellini's Tower of Pasta. Frankly, I think they need to drop "Tower of Pasta" from their name. It conjures images of an all-you-can-eat Ragu fest, and that's definitely not what this place is about. Rather, it's a charming room with an Italian menu that represents both Northern and Southern cuisine. There's an open yet intimate little bar and seating area in front, separate from the dining room. Inside, the room is split by columns into four smaller rooms, each featuring lovely hand-painted murals on the antiqued walls.
The menu is extensive, with, obviously, a heavy focus on pasta. In addition to the predictable fettuccine Alfredo and penne Arabbiatta, there's such dishes as rigatoni Rustico, with artichoke hearts, grilled eggplant and roasted peppers, or fettuccine Capriciana - rock shrimp and mushrooms in a pink vodka sauce.
If you're not in the mood for pasta, there's eggplant parmigiana, veal Marsala, or the light chicken Milanese (rightly touted as "the Chef's Favorite". Eight-inch personal pizzas, a bevy of soups and salads, and a nice assortment of appetizers, or "antipasti," round out the menu. The best part? Entrees are priced under $20, with most in the $9 to $12 range.
Press release - 2001
Staying true to their high standards Fellini's does not follow the trends, they initiate them. You will rediscover tomato sauces and cream sauces, which they excel at preparing but also delicate ribbons of pasta tossed ever so precisely with such treasures as imported porcini mushrooms, chunks of smoked chicken breast and plump fresh rock shrimp all draped in a rich Marsala and veal essence.
The breads and pastries are also prepared daily and the very same quality is realized throughout the menu, which proudly presents tender milk-fed veal, free-range chicken and prime beef. The seafood is especially prized at Fellini's and there is always a host of culinary jewels rounding out the "Speciale Della Notte" (specials of the evening).
If you are prone to people watching then Fellini's is a must. Legends of Entertainment as well as the current cast of celebs call Fellini's a home away from home. Where special treatment is a standard and personal request are welcome.
